ARPCE Editorial Board Members Contribute to Book on Further Education Leadership
Joel Petrie of the ARPCE Editorial Board, with Professor Kevin Orr, Dr Daniel O’Neill and Maire Daley are currently co-editing a book entitled The Principal: Power and Professionalism in Further Education. A sequel to Further Education and the Twelve Dancing Princesses, it will consider power, agency and professionalism in FE through the metaphorical lens of Machiavelli’s celebrated and contested treatise on power, The Prince.
This book’s contributors include students, activists and professionals drawn from the post compulsory sector, with significant input from current practicing FE teachers. Other chapter writers from the ARPCE include Dr Vicky Duckworth and Dr Gary Husband; with a preface by the ARPCE President Professor Geoffrey Elliot.
The Principal: Power and Professionalism in Further Education will be published by the UCL IOE imprint Trentham Books in 2017.
